Your cat would sit on your lap forever just to be petted and loved and cuddled and . . . well, it would, except that repetition gets boring. Though far from being a furry ball of energy, Taurus prefer variation in experiencing their favorite pastime of comfort. For example, while a Taurus loves to eat, your cat will be forgiving if food comes a little bit late. It’s easier than kicking up a fuss. Likewise, if it has finally tired of its customary spot by the heater vent, it will give gentle reminders of its desire to be in your lap by just rubbing up against your leg a few times and then heading over to its favorite spot in a rocking chair or on the couch. It can wait. Your Taurus knows that all you feel for it is love.

Taurus may not be prone to extensive hunting or exploring, but they are very territorial. A Taurus does best as a house cat, where more energetic neighborhood cats will be less likely to trespass. For all the love that your Taurus shows you, you will find that it can be very harsh towards other animals or humans. It will take a Taurus some time to adjust to a new pet, especially if that pet demands a great deal of your attention. You’ll often find your Taurus nipping at or batting around your new kitten whenever you’re not looking (and sometimes even when you are). This same sort of intolerance manifests itself with anything that disturbs the routine. Even patience has its limit. If you go out of town or even just ignore a Taurus for too long, it might go and ignore you for even longer. Just to make a point.

When your relationship is at its best, though, you and your Taurus will be the most loving, cuddly couple that could be imagined. Though not cuddly just to be cute, Tauri really do love their owners. Petting is always a favorite pastime. This is true mostly just between a Taurus and its owner, though; Tauri are slow in growing accustomed to other people. The gentler the person, the swifter the acceptance, especially if your Taurus feels secure around them. Small children and nosy people tend to put your cat’s back up. Tauri need safety. Usually, that means a hearty meal and a nap in your lap, but a Taurus will be quick to run and hide if necessary. They won’t return until the offending person leaves—and they may leave the offender with a few scratch marks before vanishing.

Be very careful with your cat’s choice of food. These cats quickly grow attached to special treats. Too much real fish, chicken, or steak means that your Taurus may never want to eat regular cat food again. Use kitty treats sparingly, or else your Taurus will eat you out of house, home, and more. When this principle is applied to inter-cat relationships, be aware that Tauri guard their food bowl with jealous zeal. Introducing another cat obviously means introducing another food bowl. The problem? If you don’t pamper your Taurus here, it will try to seize ownership of both food bowls. If you pamper your Taurus too much, it will never go back. The answer? Remember that Virgo and Capricorn are the most compatible, and try to throw in as many extra cuddles as you can.
